It will come as no surprise to you when I say that I love a good cookbook. I also love a food magazine. Combine the two, and evidently you get a cookmook. And who doesn’t love creating crazy new words? OK, don’t answer that…
A brand-spanking new copy of Entertain! landed in my letterbox the other day, and I’ve been feeling increasingly hungry ever since. Every time I pick it up my tummy growls. They say that you eat with your eyes, and well, I’ve feasted.
From the very talented people at Australian Good Taste, Entertain! is essentially a cookbook in beautiful glossy magazine format. Packed with gorgeous recipes drawn from flavours around the world, and backed up with easy to follow instructions (or chock-full of foodie inspiration, depending on which way you’d like to look at it). My husband will tell you that I’m terrible at following a recipe; I have to tweak something here, add a little something there. But the beautiful simplicity of these recipes might just have me following along line for line.
I took Entertain! to work with me this week and had more than a few colleagues happy to read over my shoulder. I’ve picked up a few ideas for our Christmas food-a-thon, including a divine strawberry & lime sparkling punch, and a voluptuous saffron chicken, prawn & chorizo paella. Goodness me, must be time for a snack….
